A1 Assessor's Award

Many existing practitioners in the further education/learning and skills sector hold the Learning and Development unit: A1 Assess Candidates Using a Range of Methods.

This unit has been mapped and been awarded full coverage of the CTLLS unit: Preparing and Planning for Assessment (PPA).  It is not included in the database in the usual way as it is not an initial teacher/trainer training qualification.

If your teaching qualification is shown to have partial or no coverage for the PPA unit but in addition to your teaching qualification you also hold the A1 assessors’ qualification, awarding institutions may accept the A1 assessor unit as evidence for full coverage of the PPA.

The information above has been added to the results tables of those qualifications which show partial or no coverage of the PPA unit e.g. City and Guilds 7307 Certificate in Teaching Adult Learners as shown below:

Please note: The A1 Assesor Award has been recognised as the qualification required for assessors of vocational qualifications since June 2002 and superceded the D32/33 awards. See below for further update.

Verifier Award - V1

The Verifier Award 'V1: Conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process' has not been mapped as it is aimed at those who verify assessments made by assessors as part of the quality assurance process and not concerned with direct learning and assessment of learners.
